<p>Energy has always been one of the major factors making nations improve and develop. Commercialization and industrialization are things that make use of power and energy in order to prop up the economy and serve the society in general. Nations right now need energy in order to sustain their activities. Many societies already rely on energy for their businesses. A lot of fun activities that people do for enjoyment, actualization, and fulfilment are made possible because of energy and power.</p>
<p>This is where we see Iran’s vital role in the international community. Iran is not just a simple country in the Middle East. It basically holds so much power because of its rich resources on oil and petroleum. The world is heavily reliant on these things and that is why having rich oil and petroleum resources puts you on a pedestal in the international community. Middle East countries in particular, are gaining so much profit because of their rich oil reserves. They are blessed to be placed in a location where there is an abundance of something that comes as a necessity to a lot of countries. Because of this, the demand for their exports is inelastic. That means that no matter the price of oil, countries will always have to buy from them because this is essential to the survival of the nations. That is also a major reason why Iran is exponentially growing in terms of its economic aspect. It ranks eighteenth in the world economic rankings. It basically holds the power of oil, something that is so essential to a society.</p>
<p>Although there have been a lot of controversies associated with Iran such as the nuclear program controversy and other things, Iran has managed to make itself stand firm with a proud face because of the power given to it by oil and petroleum. Iran and other countries in the Middle East are considered powerful as well because of oil. Even superpowers such as the United States and EU countries purchase oil from these countries. They have industries which need a constant supply of oil in order to make operations stable and productive. That is why there is this thing we call as oil politics. Countries, all over the globe, especially the powerful ones, tend to make political decisions on the basis of getting more oil or having dominion over a particular territory that is abundant in oil.</p>

<p>Iran has always presented itself to the world as a strong country in all aspects. The political, social, and economic aspects of Iran greatly contribute to the strong image that it has maintained over the years. Despite a lot of controversies that the country has faced such as nuclear program controversies and human rights violations, it still continues to rise as a proud nation in the international community.</p>
<p>If you look at the rankings of nations in terms of economy, you would see that Iran is on the 18th position. It has the eighteenth largest economy in the world. In fact, it is showing exponential economic growth which is why a lot of forecasts have said that it would become the 12th largest economy by 2015. With such little description, you could already tell how strong it is when it comes to economy. Despite the 2008 global financial crisis, it managed to stay strong and cushion the effects of the recession. It did not let the fall of the United States and some European countries make itself tremble in fear. Despite a lot of economies falling down in gradual or massive scales, it has remained firm and it has stayed economically competitive in the global market along with other countries.</p>
<p>Iran basically has a very large public sector and 50% of its economy is actually centrally planned. Its economy is diversified and its industries are competitive locally and internationally. But the most common exports of the country are oil and gas. It is one of the world’s major petroleum exporters and benefits a lot from it. If you try to analyze the need of the world for oil and gas, it is massive. A lot of nations depend on oil and gas for power and other things. That is why in terms of providing the world a basic necessity, Iran has always been marked as one of the providers. Because of its rich oil resources, profits always flow in from all around the globe including the US, Europe, and most countries in Asia. Philippines, for instance, relies heavily on oil and therefore purchases oil from Iran. Other countries have the same gravity of oil needs as well which is why Iran is also a favourite actor when it comes to oil trade and exchange. Despite the excellent growth of Iran’s economy however, just like any other country, there are also problems within their country. They have problems regarding unemployment and inflation rates. They also have problems with brain drain as their educated people are going outside their country to work, leaving their own industries less optimized because only a few people are manning them.</p>
